Privacy Policy

NextTune is a Chrome extension that helps users discover better music recommendations from supported YouTube and YouTube Music pages.

What NextTune accesses

  • Visible song, playlist, and page content from supported YouTube and YouTube Music pages when the user activates the extension.
  • User feedback such as Like and Pass actions.
  • A Pro restore email address if the user chooses to verify a Pro subscription.

How data is used

  • To generate and refine music recommendations.
  • To remember user preference signals such as likes and passes.
  • To enforce daily free usage limits and refresh limits for non-Pro users.
  • To verify Pro subscription status when a user chooses Restore Pro.

How data is stored

  • Recommendation history, usage state, and feedback are stored locally using chrome.storage.local.
  • If the user uses Restore Pro, the entered email address may be sent to the NextTune entitlement server only to verify subscription status.

What NextTune does not do

  • NextTune does not sell personal data.
  • NextTune does not use personal data for advertising.
  • NextTune does not collect financial or payment card information inside the extension.
  • NextTune does not collect health data, precise location data, personal communications, or unrelated browsing history.

Third parties

  • Stripe may process checkout and subscription payments on its own hosted payment pages.
  • A hosted entitlement server may verify whether a Pro subscription is active when a user chooses Restore Pro.

Data retention

  • Locally stored extension data remains in the user's browser until it is removed by the user or deleted when the extension is uninstalled.
  • Pro verification data is retained only as needed to manage subscription access.
