NextGame is a Chrome extension from Dailies.games for popup-based game discovery. This page explains what information the extension accesses, how it is used, and what third-party services may be involved.

What NextGame accesses

  • Bundled game dataset content that ships with the extension.
  • User preference data such as likes, dislikes, hidden games, saved games, avoid tags, onboarding quiz selections, and lightweight recommendation signals.
  • Public Steam metadata and review-summary endpoints for supported game app IDs when the extension needs extra storefront context.

How data is used

  • To generate and rank game recommendations inside the extension popup.
  • To remember user preferences, saved picks, onboarding state, and Pro-related local UI state across sessions.
  • To enrich some game cards with Steam artwork, review summaries, and related storefront details.

How data is stored

  • Preference data, adaptive signals, Steam metadata cache, and app state are stored locally in the browser using chrome.storage.local.
  • The extension reads bundled JSON game data packaged with the extension itself.
  • Steam metadata is requested from public Steam endpoints only when needed for game detail enrichment.

What NextGame does not do

  • NextGame does not sell personal data.
  • NextGame does not collect payment card information inside the extension.
  • NextGame does not require an account just to browse recommendations.
  • NextGame does not collect unrelated browsing history for advertising purposes.

Third parties

  • Steam endpoints may provide public app artwork and review summary information used by the extension.
  • If a user chooses a Pro purchase flow, Stripe-hosted checkout pages may process payment details on Stripe's own infrastructure rather than inside the extension.
  • Links in the extension may open third-party sites such as Steam, YouTube trailer search pages, official game sites, or Stripe-hosted checkout pages.

Data retention

  • Locally stored extension data remains in the user's browser until removed by the user or deleted when the extension is uninstalled.
  • Any external payment or checkout records are retained according to the policies of the payment processor handling that transaction.
